Toko launches new Ecochips website and reset service

Toko partnered with Apex Microelectronics to launch a new innovative, informative website promoting the benefits of reusing and resetting chips. With a fresh design, the new Ecochips website offers lots of new content to discover.

The chip reset website, Ecochips.eu is operated by Romanian based TOKO Srl, a strategic partner of Apex Microelectronics, the biggest chip manufacturer for the print industry, and part of the Ninestar Group.

The website provides a wealth of information and advice to small and medium European businesses that use the Unismart 3 chip resetting device (refillers, remanufacturers, raw material resellers).

Mihai Togan, Sales Director at Toko, commented “We want to provide our customers with a simple and effective chip reset system using the latest technology. Resetting chips rather than throwing them away and buying new ones, avoids customers carrying a large inventory of chips that could be a firmware upgrade away from being redundant. The Unismart 3 is easy to update and works with over 4,000 cartridges.”

Radu Matache, Head of Marketing at Toko said “It is a win-win service for remanufacturers and refill shops. The Unismart 3 chip resetting device is user-friendly with an intuitive Android-based operating system with WiFi connectivity to get the latest updates. The Toko team has over 25 years of experience providing local stocks and excellent technical support for remanufacturers and refill shops. Our Ecochips service is the shortest, most direct, technically prepared, cost-efficient service for resetting your chips in the European market.”

Good for the environment too as Matache further comments “Unismart aims to support a circular economy, prevent waste generation and ensure that products can be reused. Resetting one more chip, and reusing one more recycled cartridge, will make a positive contribution to our environment.

Resetting chips can save up to 28 million litres of water when you consider that the chip manufacturing process takes around 200ml of water. Multiply that by the 100 million-plus new and reused cartridges produced and sold in Europe each year and you get a massive potential environmental saving.”
