Authorities in the UAE have confiscated over 46,000 counterfeit toner cartridges this year, according to HP.

These ready-for-sale counterfeit toner cartridges had both HP and Samsung brands, the OEM revealed.

As Gulf News reports, in April this year a number of raids were carried out by local officials on “several private residences and farms”, where they discovered “significant volumes of HP and Samsung branded illicit products” concealed in storage.

These raids “helped halt the trade of counterfeit cartridges across the UAE and internationally and disrupted the criminal ring assembling and distributing the goods”, HP explained.
