The six German Customs (Zoll) and their trusty blue trolly were accompanied by the complaining IP lawyers as they conducted their relentless pursuit against potentially infringing products at the Ambiente trade fair, seizing over 1,100 suspected infringing products, mainly from China, India, and Taiwan, including toner cartridges, pens, and glasses.
The Zoll initiated 27 criminal proceedings and collected €41,500 ($44,872) as security. The actions aimed at protecting the economy and consumers from low-quality infringing products also involved removing fake trademarks from displays and ensuring that these goods don’t enter the market.
